Why zandvoort? This is the place i live, the place where I grew up. but specifically also the place where I like to go most. I find my peace here and also my pleasure. it is full of memories from the past and ideas about the future. But what does the future of this tourist village look like? and how can we influence that? what are unique things about this village?
Intervieuw

I thought it was important to speak to different generations to see the village from different eyes. and what problems were shared across generations. and what the differences are.

the interview with my grandfather. I am very family oriented. I think family is important and that we are there for each other. my grandfather likes this too, he likes it when we eat with them all so that he can hear all our stories. he lived and worked in Zandvoort almost all of their life. he was a plumber by trade, so he visited many people's homes. they still live independently in Zandvoort Noord. Now that the time has come for us (me and my sister and nephew and niece) to live on our own, that has of course come to the attention of grandpa and grandma at home. this is a difficult subject my grandfather always has big plans with floors in the house so that we can all live there (but that is of course not possible) grandpa also talks about it a lot, but in the past ... and when I was young .. he finds this time difficult and it difficult to bother us so much with the subject of living on our own. my grandfather hates the new building in Zandvoort. the old-fashioned van Zandvoort is disappearing.

I started talking to my mother about old Zandvoort traditions and customs through the conversation with my grandfather. and here we came to things that make Zandvoort unique. that's the things that were events I can still remember like protesting the windmills because it would ruin the view. and the older sand workers who know which family you belong to by name names. Although I used to understand little of this as a child, I now see how these traditions are slowly dying with this generation

3 Ideas
I did an interview with my grandfather and grandmother and the jeudeboules club (all 70 + ers) and I started conversations about living space and how we can handel this. because it is a real problem here for people who want to start standing on there own feed but also olderly people who would like some help. i also chatted with my parents because they are in the middel of it and don't notice it as much. it is also a current problem in my life.

1 Idea

1.2020 an outdated village. In Zandvoort mainly adults / elderly people won. It will not be made attractive for starters to stay or start in Zandvoort, this will cause an aging population in the village. many elderly people now stay in family homes for a long time. the solution for this is modular living. This will consist of buildings with movable walls. so that the spaces can be divided into different sizes. this allows a student with a parent and a small family to live together on one floor and two large families on the next floor.
2 Idea

2. Windmills are a great way of generating energy, also known among the Zandvoorters as ruining the view. or is this the future? why don't we do more with this “empty” space. Or is it only important what the view is like? is there a new way to catch wind or to hide windmills?
3 Idea

3. Swear names. This is something typical of Zandvoorts. this is also something that is still very common in the elderly. in this way the elderly recognize where you come from. this is also used in other cities, but I know that not many people from outside Zandvoort know about this. is this a code language? or is this something that is going to die out with the older generation
